Gucci Garden and Björk at Pitti Uomo

For the 94th edition of Pitti Uomo in Florence, the well-known Gucci Garden Museum inside Palazzo della Mercanzia inaugurated two new rooms to host the installation dedicated to the collaboration between Gucci and Björk.

A unique and unrepeatable event born with the aim of telling the professional relationship between Alessandro Michele, creative director of the French fashion house, and the Irish singer-songwriter. The designer has in fact created the spectacular dress he wears in the video clip The Gate (2017). 550 hours for the realization of the majestic and luminescent dress and another 320 hours for embroidery. Pearls, crystals, ribbons give a touch of light and brightness.

A art work made with five meters of pleated PVC and 20 meters of organza of lurex, crêpe de chine and pleated silk jersey.

The exhibition also includes another dress, a series of accessories and two masks created by the artist and embroiderer James Merry. Moreover, we can find a selection of books curated by Maria Luisa Frisa, linked to the union between art, fashion and cinema and the imaginary world evoked by the film.

What other surprises will Alessandro Michele reserve for us?
